ABOUT MURRAY DARLING AMATEUR SWIMMING CLUB

Side of pool

Murray Darling Amateur Swimming Club was first registered with NSW swimming in 1957. The club was formed earlier and there are records going back to the early fifties. We are a local swimming club dedicated to providing opportunities for community members to engage in swimming activities.

Our club welcomes swimmers of all levels: Junior Transition Squad, Junior Squad, Country Target Squad, Country Squad and State Squad and aims to create a supportive and inclusive environment for everyone to enjoy the sport of swimming.

We train at the Dareton Swimming Pool on Monday and Wednesday nights from 5.30pm. The members are split into three lanes according to skill level.

We have two coaches who manage the training and programs, Bec Marshall and Teresa Crisp.

OUR PURPOSE

Boys having fun at club champs

Our purpose is to:

  • Provide the best possible instruction, training, and competition for every Murray Darling swimmer.

  • Encourage the long-term goal of most swimmers participating in swim meets.

  • Motivate young people to achieve the most from themselves, to be "the best they can be".

  • Instill in young people an appreciation of high self-esteem, the value of hard work, and the importance of good sportsmanship.

  • Provide general fitness.

  • Provide opportunities for social and emotional development as well as cultural and educational growth.

We trust that you will enjoy your season with us and hope that our swimmers achieve their goal, however large or small they may be. And remember Winning is not always being the first, just as long as you are doing your best, you are winning all the time.

Every year we hold a Club Championships event. This is where club members can participate in racing against their fellow members in their applicable age groups. The day is fun and gives the swimmers an opportunity to participate in racing and improve their times.
